Katie A. Meinelt, Esq.
Attorney Meinelt graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in English and a concentration in Education. She received her Master’s Degree in 2004, also from UNH, in English Literature. While at UNH, she was a full scholarship athlete on the cross country and track and field team.
After graduation, she moved to Washington D.C. and was a middle school English teacher before going to law school. She graduated from Suffolk University Law School in Boston in 2010 where she concentrated in Education Law.
Throughout her legal career, Attorney Meinelt has worked exclusively in Education Law. She worked at Stoneman, Chandler & Miller for over six years representing public schools and charter schools. In 2018, she started with working with Attorney Jeffrey Sankey, and together they formed Sankey, Meinelt & Fisher LLP.
On July 1, 2022, she opened KM Education Law where she exclusively represents public schools and charter schools throughout the state.
Katie grew up in Massachusetts and currently resides in Winchester with her husband, son, and dog. She spends a lot of time on Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard with family. Katie has run the Boston Marathon 16 times, and since 2017 has run it in support of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, raising over $150,000 for cancer research.
Knowing Katie as I do, I can say with the ultimate confidence that her work ethic, character and legal skills provide everything that a school district could ever want in its attorney. She has an unsurpassed wealth of knowledge that she brings to bear every day. She is devoted to school staff and fiercely protective of them in team meetings and hearings. She will tell you when you have a problem, but she will defend you to the end when you are right. Most importantly, Katie never loses sight of the best interests of students.
